Everybody needs someone to look up to…
I am constantly inspired by fashionable women everywhere. And although I have a preference for real women (as opposed to celebrities) I think these two women straddle the line between fame and normalcy pretty stylishly. Below are two of my current obsessions: Yasmin Sewell and Leigh Lezark. Notice the nuances in their style: a.) a neutral palette (mostly black/navy) which they pepper with bright accent colors, b.) a distinct, ownable hairstyle, c.) angles, d.) asymmetry, e.) attitude and f.) muted femininity. I should tattoo these attributes on my ribcage. Dramatic? Oh hell yes…. g.) drama.
Both of these ladies seem über petite (and maybe a little hungry) but I think they shape their tiny frames with just the right amount of scale. Well done. Bravo. Love the hair. Now go! Meet up with Kim and eat some cupcakes.

For all you ladies with or without dates on Sunday: don’t wear pink. Do wear lace and a sexy bun. Be pretty.
After this bloated weekend of social, fashion and blog events is OVER, I plan to unwind by overloading on Bloody Mary’s with Shannon at my favorite secret spot this Sunday. Then stumble to various West 4th shops and treat ourselves to some leather and diamonds, or should I say, pleather and dildos (and pointing and laughing). Just kidding. Just kidding. I love my neighborhood. Love love love.
shirt: Nordstrom? (it’s so old there are no longer tags)
ring: my mom’s
belt: Urban Outfitters
jeans: American Apparel
song on my mix: Fuck You, Lily Allen
Also: I went fishing in my mom’s jewelry box! Luckily, she’s always pretty willing to give me her costume jewelry and allows me to borrow the good stuff. So this past weekend I took another look at her extensive collection, which ranges all the way back to… um, I won’t give away ALL of her secrets. Let’s just say it hits some of the best decades. Below are some photos of what I snagged and took back to NYC. Some of the items are already inspiring outfits and personalities – they all exude femininity. Stay tuned for how I use some of the items.
My New Year’s resolution: wear more color. Anywhere, everywhere, even underwear. We all know, I tend to wear a lot of black, gray and neutral tones. Can’t go wrong, right? Wrong. I’m tired of it.
I kicked this off with my NYE outfit – I was clad in bubble gum pink (which will be my next post, wait for it). In the meantime enjoy these items I purchased this weekend. Ah, color….how I love how you make me feel.
Check out the creeper in the background. Story of my life…
I hope everyone has enjoyed their Thanksgiving weekend. Just thought i would share this beautiful Saturday sunset from a small beach in New Jersey. Happy Relaxing!
